Fiber Artist |
My journey as an artist is one filled with great pain and immeasurable joy. Many moons ago, I pursued a degree in commericial art but after a year of schooling and a couple of ego-centered teachers, I abandoned art and finished college with a B.A. in Human Services. In the years that followed, the desire to create still burned inside of me, but the wounds from my college years still needed to be healed. It took alot of soul searching and support from family and friends for me to realize that art is a valid means of personal expression and I could no longer be silent. After many schizophrenic endeavors in different mediums, I was consistently drawn to the tactility of fibers; the seductive plush of a velvet, the cool, slinkiness of a silk and the honest integrity of a cotton is a romance that will continue for many years to come.
